In our article titled, eBay's Most Searched List, we have shown how to use AuctionCloud to display the most popular
search keywords for each category on eBay. By clicking on the tag cloud phrases, a live eBay listing of all products fitting that keyword is displayed.
But what if you're interested in the popular products based on that category or keyword?
Popularity here is based on criteria such as Watch Count and other criteria as determined by eBay.
Watch Count is based on active listings tracked in watched lists of all registered or guest eBay users.
A soon-to-be-released feature with AuctionCloud 2.0 is the ability to display just that for each keyword phrase(s). Version 2.0 will be launched in Q4 2008.
For example, from eBay's most searched list for Tickets->Event Tickets category, the top 5 keywords are:
Selecting the most popular event ticket on eBay in early October, 'Yankees' tickets, and the most popular auction listings for Yankees event tickets are:

The number 1 listing has 12 interested buyers (number in brackets after auction listing title - at the time of this writing) tracking it on their watch list. Buyers can use popularity to decide which specific auction listing to go after
while Sellers can get the actual interest of buyers without having to guess.
Once Version 2.0 is launched, we will detail the strategies a buyer or seller can use to leverage this useful information from eBay.
